Complete Adoption Services of Family Counseling Clinic is now accepting applications
from married couples for our
China program. Singles may now apply for special
needs children.
As of January, 1994,
CAS of FCC was approved by the
China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) to prepare and recommend families
who wish to adopt in the People’s Republic of China. We conduct your
Home Study, assist you
personally with the Dossier (all of the
paperwork needed for China), and help prepare you for and arrange your travel.
For Illinois families wishing to use other agencies for placement services
from China, CAS of FCC will be happy to complete your
Home Study.
China Adoption Facts
 |
Due to China’s strict one child policy, many children are
abandoned and institutionalized. The Chinese government has allowed these
children to be available for adoption and to give them the opportunity to join
a loving family from abroad. |
 |
The children available are infants and young females, the majority of whom
are healthy. |
 |
There are approximately nine hundred orphanages in China. |
 |
Some orphanages also operate infant foster homes. |
 |
The ideal candidates to adopt healthy, abandoned infants are married
couples with or without children who are thirty years of age or older;
currently China has imposed a quota regarding single prospective parents. |
 |
Applicants who do not meet these ideals are not excluded but asked to
consider the adoption of a child with minor and correctable medical problems. |
 |
It is taking China 9-12 months to assign
children to families. |
 |
Families receive medical information and pictures prior to acceptance of
child and travel. |
