Complete Adoption Services of Family Counseling Clinic is now accepting applications from married couples for our
China program. Singles may now apply for special needs children.

As of January, 1994, CAS of FCC was approved by the China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) to prepare and recommend families who wish to adopt in the People’s Republic of China. We conduct your Home Study, assist you personally with the Dossier (all of the paperwork needed for China), and help prepare you for and arrange your travel.

For Illinois families wishing to use other agencies for placement services from China, CAS of FCC will be happy to complete your Home Study.

    China Adoption Facts

bullet Due to China’s strict one child policy, many children are abandoned and institutionalized. The Chinese government has allowed these children to be available for adoption and to give them the opportunity to join a loving family from abroad.
bullet The children available are infants and young females, the majority of whom are healthy.
bullet There are approximately nine hundred orphanages in China.
bullet Some orphanages also operate infant foster homes.
bullet The ideal candidates to adopt healthy, abandoned infants are married couples with or without children who are thirty years of age or older; currently China has imposed a quota regarding single prospective parents.
bullet Applicants who do not meet these ideals are not excluded but asked to consider the adoption of a child with minor and correctable medical problems.
bullet It is taking China 9-12 months to assign children to families.
bullet Families receive medical information and pictures prior to acceptance of child and travel.

     To Adopt in China

bullet Travel is required.
bullet CAS of FCC strongly recommends that with married couples both  adopting parents travel to China.
bullet We recommend single parents travel with a family member or friend if possible.
bullet Families spend about two weeks in China and adopt their children in country.
bullet Families travel in small groups whenever possible.
bullet Families are met and escorted by our English speaking interpreter/guides throughout the adoption process.
bullet Ask to speak with families who have completed a Chinese adoption with Family Counseling Clinic.  Click here to get references.
