The CAS of FCC program in Poland began in the fall of 1997. With our Poland Program, we conduct your Home Study, assist you personally with the Dossier (all of the paperwork needed for Poland), and help prepare you for and arrange your travel.

For Illinois families wishing to use other agencies for placement services from Poland, CAS of FCC will be happy to complete your Home Study.

Poland Adoption Facts

	Extensive medical and psychological reports are available to families at time of a child referral.
	The orphanages in Poland are well staffed.
	Children available are males and females over the age of twelve months; children may be light-complected and fair-haired.
	Applicants may be married couples or single women.
	Poland requires no more than a forty-year age-span between the child's age and that of the eldest adoptive parent.
	To complete an adoption in Poland from beginning to end takes approximately eight to ten months.
	Families receive a photo, medical, and psychological information prior to acceptance of the child and travel.

To Adopt in Poland

	Travel to Poland is required.
	Complete Adoption Services of Family Counseling Clinic strongly recommends that both adopting parents travel to Poland.
	Families are met and escorted through the process in Poland by our English-speaking Coordinator.
	The process of adoption in Poland takes two trips.
	During your first trip, you will have a meeting with your child and orphanage staff, and appear in court to obtain temporary custody. This trip is generally seven to ten days.
	Usually, the entire process of adoption in Poland takes six to eight weeks; adoptive parents do not have to remain in Poland the entire time.
	Your adoption will be finalized on your second trip. The second trip is two to three days long.
